One-on-One Mentoring for Yoga Teachers (online or in person)
Have you just completed a 200YTT but lack the confidence to actually teach? Or perhaps you are already teaching but are suddenly faced with unexpected challenges and obstacles and you’re looking for some advice, or just a sympathetic ear. I’ve mentored many of my friends and colleagues over the years on their yoga teaching path and I’m now offering this service more formally to the wider public. Introduction to Sanskrit for YTT’s
I have been offering bespoke “Introduction to Sanskrit”-modules at various Yoga Teacher Trainings in Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Somerset West since 2018. The main focus of these introductory courses is on correct pronunciation, to give students confidence in their use of Sanskrit.
Content:
• a brief historical overview of the Sanskrit language
• detailed guidance for the pronunciation of the individual sounds that make up the Sanskrit alphabet
• a comprehensive list of Sanskrit vocabulary and asana names relevant to modern yoga teachers and practitioners
• a selection of mantras (optional)
I usually offer this course in 2 x 90min sessions (3 hours in total) but can adapt its length and content entirely to your needs.

Retreats and Practice Intensives
My next retreat will run from 13-15 February at Welbedacht Nature Reserve in Tulbagh.
This retreat is an opportunity for you to take a break from the hustle of your day-to-day life and learn some practical tools that will make you feel grounded, revived and re-inspired, and hopefully continue to support you on your onward journey.
We will start each day with yoga asana and then move on to more subtle practices of pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. Most of the retreat will be spent in noble silence to reduce external distractions and create a space where you can learn to listen to your own inner wisdom and engage with the world around you in a whole new way (more below).
You will also have some free time to rest, hike, swim, journal and simply be.
